Description

Lucuma is the fruit of Pouteria lucuma, an evergreen tree that thrives in the Andean region of South America.

It has long been a part of local diets, where it is prized for its flavour.

However, it is also notably rich as a source of nutrition.

It contains a good range of the carotene antioxidants and a wide spectrum of B vitamins.

It is also rich in dietary fibre, which makes up 15% of its volume.

Direction for Use

Lucuma can be used as a cooking ingredient in place of flour. It can also be added to juice or smoothies.
